Abstract
The present study aims at discussing a method to assess regional socio-economic impacts of renewable energy installations. Difference input-output (IO) model and two region IO model were constructed using prefectural and national IO tables to estimate total and regional outputs resulting from the new introduction of the small hydro power generation in Yamanashi prefecture. The difference of regional outputs estimated by the two models comes from whether the bounding-back effects are considered. In particular, the bounding-back effects are large in the industrial machinery, industrial electric equipment and plastic product sectors.
