Abstract
30kW class photovoltaic-water electrolyzer (PV-ELY) system in Fukushima renewable energy research institute that efficiently generates hydrogen by controlling the number of ELY cells is introduced. The advantage of this direct coupling between PV and ELY is that the power loss due to the DC/DC converter is avoided. About 20kW PV connected to the electrolyzer directly, the hydrogen production was carried out. The controlling the number of ELY cells is woked well , it was confirmed that this PV-ELY system has been properly designed.
