Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe relations among energy savings, fossil energy consumption reduction, and CO2 emissions reduction using the concept of carbon-related energy (CE) and to propose the strategy that realizes the rational uses of primary energy including non-fossil energy as well as reduction of fossil energy and CO2 emissions. Using the formation with the concept of carbon-related energy (CE), we obtained the following results. In order to reduce CO2 emissions and fossil energy consumption rationally, it is needed to control the reduction rate of total primary energy (ENE) including non-fossil energy as well as the reduction rate of CE per ENE. The reduction rate of CE can be equal to the sum of the reduction rate of ENE and the reduction rate of CE per ENE.
