In order to build a decarbonized society, there is a need to establish a CCU technology that can convert separated and recovered CO2 into valuable resources. We are developing a CCU process that combines three processes (CO2 discharge decomposition using atmospheric pressure plasma, CO gas separation, and synthetic fuel and urea production using CO+NH3). In this study, we attempted to investigate a method to selectively separate CO from the CO2/CO/O2 gas mixture produced by the CO2 discharge decomposition process. We tested the separation of CO2, O2, and N2 (alternative CO) using a ceramic membrane separator, focusing on the difference in dynamic molecular diameters of the gas molecules. As a result, a high N2 (alternative CO) separation performance of 99.5% was confirmed, indicating that the ceramic membrane separator can be used to selectively separate CO from a CO2/CO/O2 gas mixture.
