7-1-4　Study on the Effects of Woody Biomass CHP on Local Environmental and Economic Cycles

Abstract

We surveyed 13 woody biomass combined heat and power (CHP) facilities, tracing upstream log supply, midstream fuel production, and downstream CHP supply to final power and heat demand. First, we determined the exergy (Ex) utilization rate of the entire local circular system (LCS) and compared the degree of effective utilization of biomass resources. Second, we created a flow-of-funds chart of LCS from CHP, fuel factory to forests and compared the local multiplier effect.
