Abstract

This study analyses life cycle CO2 emissions for advanced greenhouse horticulture and its reduction potential by utilizing renewable energy resources. Life cycle CO2 emissions are estimated by hybrid approach with process and input-output analysis. This study reveals that the main source of life cycle CO2 emissions is combustion of LPG for heating. In addition, life cycle CO2 reduction potential by replacing LPG with wood chips is quantified.
