Experimental studies on growth and effects of treading-pressure of Japanese lawn grass under some soil compositions

Abstract

In these experiments, the results obtained are as follows:
Japanese lawn grass-“HIMEKORAI-SHIBA”, one variety of Zoysia matrella MERR, were used.
1, In both case of tread and non-tread, simple mixtures of pearlite, cokes-sinder or sand were especially effective, and mixture of large quantity were better.
2. Simple mixture of vermiculite or zonolite were not so effective comparing with 1. item.
3. We could not see the availability in case of simple mixture of soiluck, peatmoss and grains of lava.
4. Compound mixture-pearlite, vermiculite; pearlite, vermiculite, soiluck; vermiculite, cokes-sinder, soiluck; vermiculite, cokes-sinder, peatmoss showed good results.
