NIWA and SANSUI

Abstract

The terms such as“Niwa (Court)” and“Sansui (Landscape)” have historical backgrounds. We have to take notice historical terms of Landscape Architecture. These words often contains the qualitative meaning refering technique of Landscape Architecture. The purpose of this study is to make out“collection of archaic terms of Landscape Architecture” in order to contribute to clarify the history of these terms.
