Abstract
Effect of content and melting point of polyethylene wax in coating film on stain resistance and formability of pre-coated aluminum sheet was investigated. In order to estimate stain resistance, stain resistance test using red ink was performed. To estimate formability, the drawing test was performed and the limiting drawing ratio (LDR) was measured. Stain resistance was good when the content of polyethylene wax in coating film was 3% or less, but it was slightly poor when it was 5%. It was confirmed that red ink stains were osmosed in the polyethylene wax particle observed in the surface of coating film. It was considered that stain resistance was influenced by the condition of the particle. Stain resistance was good when the melting point of polyethylene wax was 343 K, 373 K, 393 K, and 403 K. Formability was better, as the content of polyethylene wax increased. Formabilty was inferior, as the melting point of polyethylene wax was higher than 393 K.
