Abstract
Inner surface burnishing of A2B1, A2B2 and A2B5 alloys were studied. Analysis of the press-in force required for the tool was carried out. Steady state of the press-in force is found under such conditions as thin wall thickness of the alloy tubes, slow press-in speed of the tool, and longer tube length. An amount of material to be removed has a remarkable effect on the deformation process. A smaller amount of material to be removed ensures better shape precision of the burnished tube. All over the section of the tube is appreciably work-hardened. Workhardening is heavy at the inner side contacting with the tool and moderates toward the outer side.
