Abstract
C-curves for beginning of precipitation of Al6Mn and start and end of recrystallization were determined by use of optical and electron microscopies and of Vickers hardness measurement. Recrystallization textures were represented by X-ray pole figures. Three types interrelations between precipitation and recrystallization processes are found in different temperature ranges: 1) Precipitation precedes recrystallization at T<320°C; 2) Precipitation starts after recrystallization has occurred at 320°C_??_T_??_400°C; and 3) recrystallization completes before precipitation occurs at T>400°C. The rolling texture remains in the alloys annealed at T<380°C through recrystallization in situ. Discontinuous recrystallization becomes preferentially at elevated temperature 380°C_??_T_??_400°C and the texture is composed of R-orientation and a weak cube texture. Annealing at T>400°C results in formation of the (001) [100] and (011) [100] orientations. These orientations are related to the deformed matrix by 40° <111> rotational relationships.
