Four kinds of 7N01 billets containing different amounts of non-metallic inclusions only degassed, and degassed and filtered with rigid media filters 0.4, 0.7 and 1.5mm in pore diameter were extruded and T6 heat treated. The smaller the pore diameter of filter is, the more the non-metallic inclusions are removed, and the mechanical properties are improved. The elongation and toughness in a transverse direction (vertical to extruding direction) are remarkably raised in accordance with removal of oxide inclusions.
