Dry and wet cutting tests were carried out on 7075-T6 and AC3A materials which easily wear out the tool. In dry and wet cutting of 7075-T6, crater wear occurs in the face and flank wear does in the side flank. In dry cutting of AC3A, tool deposits which form and adhere onto the face and the side flank protect them. The fact leads to triangular flank wear free from craters near the tool tip. In wet cutting of AC3A, grooving wear occurs in the part of depth of cut, because the chips including hard silicon particles directly rub the tool face.
