Abstract
Abstract Bifidobacterium are believed to have health-promoting properties for their hosts. Such benefits are thought to include enhancement of immune response and protection against viral infection. This time, the authors applied a new probiotic product (Bifidobacterium Live Long) in a clinical setting. As a result of administering this product to patients with ulcerative colitis, the balance of intestinal flora was improved by enhancing the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria and/or inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria, resulting in scavenging in the intestinal environment. This led to an improvement in both symptoms and QOL.
