A Strong Backing Principle of Linear Type EDP System Design

Abstract

There are many methods for EDP system design. One of them is linear type EDP system desing that is already publishied and popular. The manual is composed by making multi-stages decision process of data processing of objective business affairs. By using these methods, so many EDP systems have been designed and executed, for instance, accounting, fixed property, payment, statistics of business, of staff, progress of construction works, maintenance control, inventory control, estimation of building materials, estimation of toll traffic, management of plan of works and executions in NTT, etc. Generally some solutions were proposed for each stage of process and much discussion was made. But, by using this method, they could always find one solution. In this occasion, there are the questions whether many solutions exist or not and whether the optimal solution exists or not. This paper gives some theoretical backing to linear type system that has so far been made customarily according to manual.
