Abstract
This paper considers the basic characteristics of the cross-product solution in factor analysis. The following have been shown.(1)The first column's elements of the loading matrix are approximately identical with the means of the variables and its factorseores represent the difference between individuals'(or samples')mean scores.(2)If these factor scores are equal, the rest of the loading matrix are identical with the covariance lolution's loadings and if not all equal, the rest are not only different from them, but also the covariance solution has the additional factor due to the unequality of these scores.
