The Effectiveness of Paralleling in the Production Line : A Study on the Effect of the Operation Time Distribution

Abstract

One of the important problems is to increase the production rate in designing the production line. In thes paper the effectiveness of paralleling the series lines is presented by the simulation method, which is represented by the imaginary buffer capacity. Consequently, it is shown that the imaginary buffer capacity presents the effect of the various design factors on the effectiveness very simply and the imaginary capacity is represented by the linear equation. And it is shown that the paralleling is very useful to increase the production rate.
