A Comparative Consideration of Operating Policies for Conveyor-Serviced Production Station

Abstract

Relative relations of seven operating policies for the CSPS model and the structure of effective operating policies are here studied, Generally speaking, non-sequential type policies are inferior to sequential type policies in terms of reducing the expected delay-time per unit produced. The proposed Reserve-dependent and Sequential Range Policy may be optimal as it is superior to other stationary policies. In addition, The monotonic property, a condition of the potimal range strategy, is found in all cases.
