Abstract
This paper presents a new techinque of evaluation for applying standards in the process of designing new product. It consists of two phases, namely, confirmation of results and betterment of design. The former comoprises the evaluation of economical effect and the quantitative evaluation of the level of standardization. The latter has close relation to evaluation process of product design itself. As the basis of the evaluation, there can be used Matrix Analysis, Family Tree Analysis and Formal Design Review Technique. This evaluation has the important function both for promotion of standardization and for accomplishment of optimum design.
