Abstract
A nuclear power plant is modeled as redundant structural system composed of six subsystems. The failure and maintenance of this system is simulated on the basis fo Monte Carlo technique developed previously by authors. The recommended procedure enables us to evaluate the effect of inspection number on the reliability and availability of the system, and to find the optimum maintenance policy. A new parameter sensitivity analysis is also studied which gives the best way to improve the reliability and availability of a nuclear poewr plant.
