Abstract
In order to minimize the balance delay of assembly lines, this paper introduces "The multitact assembly line" which has multiple cycle times. The cycle times assigned to each work station are the multiples of the primary cycle time derived from the required production rate. This paper describes the moldeling of the line balancing problem of the multi-tact assembly line and presents the computation method by the branch-and-bound to solve the problem.
