Abstract
This paper presents a mathematical model to obtain the optimum equipment series under the case where demand increases linearly in the beginning and reaches a constant value. First, the equipment series after demand reached a constant value are determined by annual worth method based on like-for-like replacement. Then, the optimum equipment series are determined by the present worth method considering the total cash flows. The proposed method is applied to a simple numerical example.
