Abstract
In this paper, the model for defects enumerating error is developed. A product which has a number of defects is classified as conforming or nonconforming by comparing the enumeration of the defects to specified number. Error model of enumeration is constructed as a conditional probability distribution given the number of defects of a product. Assuming that the numbers of defects of products in a lot are distributed by Poisson, it is shown that the two types of inspection errors, classifying conforming as nonconforming and nonconforming as conforming, depend on the rate of nonconforming of the lot. By applying the model to sampling inspection and multiple 100% inspections, the performance of inspections and the effects of enumeration error are examined.
