Abstract
In this paper, an optimal operation planning of the fixed-interval withdrawal Kanban system consisting of known planned demand with random variables is proposed. Behavior of the optimal order interval and the number of Kanbans are investigated in terms of different ranges of the planned demand and random variables. In the case that one of these two ranges is short, the optimal order interval becomes shorter and the number of Kanbans becomes smaller as the other range increases. In the case that one of these two ranges is long, the optimal order interval is almost constant and the number of Kanbans shows a little increase as the other range increases.
