Abstract
In Japan, a quarter of national population is expected to be composed of over 65 year-old persons in the near future, and therefore it is a key point for the enterprises to utilize senior citizens effectively, major part of whom have not been employed so far. We propose a model for evaluating employment of senior citizens which is available in examining the possibilities of extension of the retiring age and increasing proportion of senior employees in terms of ability-cost performances. The present study applies this model to factory workers, and discusses the possibilities and problems for stimulation of the senior citizens employment.
