Abstract
The development of Flange Mounted Propeller has been proceeded to improve on the fitting method of conventional propeller. This improved system, flange coupled propeller and shaft, has characteristics as follows;
(1) lightened weight of propellers, and consequently decreased statical bending moment on the propeller shaft alignment.
(2) simplified fitting and inspection works.
F.M. Propeller was fitted on a ship and the test result was satisfactory so as to prove its full reliability on functional safety and effectiveness.
