Abstract
In this study, I measured the personality of 130 subjects using the Big Five Personality Inventory (BFPI) and Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) and next used Multiple Mode Scale on the same subjects to measure feelings state after the subjects read 6 short novels, after which I analyzed the relations between the personality and feelings state. Results show that, in both the case of Single Correlation Analysis and the Multiple Regression Analysis, the value of correlation coefficient and coefficient of determination is low generally, but there were plural personality scales showing a significant relation between personality and feelings state in 5 of 6 short novels in the BFPI and in all of the short novels in MMPI. The results indicate the possibility of the realization of a retrieval system of books using the feelings that could predict the intensity of different feelings state of individual users based on personality.
