When a metallic crystal is subject to stress, the glide process seems to start from the surface layer of the crystal. We experimented microscopically on the etch-figures of aluminium single crystal as to the effects of deforming velocity, surface treatment, including hydrogen atoms in this report. And the considerations were given from the view point of dislocation in connection with the discotinuous jump, previously reported in the creep test.
