We have already proposed the new control method of the SP-type wireless power transfer using DAB-type DC/DC converter and power transmission is possible in both directions, improving efficiency. When we actually manufactured the experimental setup, there was a problem that the transmission efficiency decreased when the degree of coupling between the coils was reduced. In order to solve this problem, in this paper, we define a new parameter “design coupling coefficient” and redesigned. By doing so, if the external reactor is selected optimally, the resonant capacitors on both sides are determined only by the frequency and self-inductance, and a clear design that does not depend on the degree of coupling becomes possible.
