Abstract
The purpose of this study is to make clear states of Tourist Resort for foreigner at Karatsu and the Policy of Tourist Industry during 1930s. Karatsu City had constructed Karatsu Seaside Hotel, drive-way and golf course for foreign tourist through City Planning at the time of merger of towns and villages. They were planned as facilities of summer resort for foreign resident in East Asia. Developments of Karatsu were influenced as follows; 1)Being increasing visitor from East Asia early 1930s, 2)Upgrading of Unzen as resort at the point of constructing Unzen Kanko Hotel. Karatsu Seaside Hotel was reflected them and were designed simply on seaside. The characteristics of resort of Karatsu were points reflected popularization of resort in modern age.
