Abstract
This study examined the relationship between tourist experiences and their attachment to destinations. Data regarding people’s attachment to Kyoto and Okinawa prefectures as tourism destinations, their past visits there, the length of stay, and their tourist experiences at the prefectures during their past visit were collected through questionnaire surveys. Our results showed that some of the experiences had effects on their destination attachment. Especially, it was indicated that those who regarded the prefectures less boring were attached to the prefectures more strongly. As there are few studies about boredom with destinations, further research is called for.
