Abstract
This study explored how local information service, such as travel guides, may affect tourists' xperiences from the perspective of 'value co-creation'. We used the guide map of Takuminosato as a map sample in this study. We found that many of the participants reported that using a paper map made effective use of their time and reduced their anxiety about getting to destinations. They also reported that using the paper map helped them create memorable experiences and feel satisfaction with their tours. The findings suggest that 'value co-creation' plays a crucial role in making local travel information useful to tourists.
