Abstract
Although it is essential for the development of planning of tourist resorts to have more knowledge of the characteristics of pedestrian behavior of tourists, not very much research has been done yet. In this report, the results of a review of literature in this field are presented and subsequently examined from the 'logic of tourism' - point of view. By doing so, I will try to indicate topics and directions of future research in this field. These can be summarized as follows: 1)There is a need to accumulate more knowledge in this field. 2)Development of a research methodology. 3)More qualitative analysis is needed on how characteristics of the spatial structure determine pedestrian behavior. 4)The results of research should be used more in future planning of tourist resorts.
