Abstract
In cubic type CdTe crystals etch-pits with various shapes were found on different crystallographic planes. Detailed structures and the formation process of these etch-pits were investigated. In addition, a simple method is proposed to identify the crystallographic polarity of the CdTe crystal using the orientation of the etch-pits on (110) plane which appears frequently in as-grown crystals.
