Abstract
We have investigated the Mo(110)surface deposited with Mn by means of the Reflection High Energy Electron Diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscope. Five new surface ordered structures were observed at temperatures ranging from R.T. to 300℃ for various film thicknesses and a phase diagram for two-dimensional surface structures was constructed. The distorted shape of the Mn crystallites were caused from atomic arrangement of α-Mn(110)surface. The RHEED patterns indicate that Mn grows by the Stranski-Krastanov mode on the Mo(110) surface.
