The mixed habit of natural diamond consisting of {111} and cuboides has been interpreted to be caused by the impurity effect. Based on the concept of kinetic smoothening, the mixed habit is re-interpreted to be caused by increasing of supersaturation and activation energies for incorporation of growth units into kink sites.
