27aD05 In situ Observation of Growing Xe Clathrate Hydrate Crystals on Ice Surface(NCCG-34)

Abstract

In situ observation of growing Xe clathrate hydrate (Xe hydrate) crystal on ice surface was observed by Confocal Scanning Microscopy. We observed that Xe hydrate grew along the ice surface. We found that there is a groove between ice and Xe hydrate. This structure will be caused by diffusion of water molecules on the growth front.
