詳細

Dear Readers, It is with great pleasure that I introduce this eighth Volume of our Journal to you. After some troubled years, which saw submissions to our Journal drop and delays in our publication, I am happy to report that the vitality of the academic community of Digital Humanities is back, with well attended international conferences, lively discussions and interchanges.

The JADH has just held its annual conference in Osaka, returning to the hosts of our first meeting after 15 years and it was testimony to this vitality that we could welcome participants from more countries than we had seen before. The call for paper for the next Volume of our Journal is open and we hope to see presentations from the conference to turn into contributions of the Journal[1].

This trend can also be seen in the submissions to the current issue of this Journal, which substantially picked up in numbers. Unfortunately, not all submissions met the standards of our editors and reviewers. One of the reasons was the rather intense use of AI to write whole submissions. These had to be turned down, but we do not generally oppose use of artificial Intelligence in supporting roles or as topics of research, but all use has to be acknowledged in the submissions. This issue is now made explicit in the Guidelines for Authors of our Journal.

We have also streamlined our production process and, thanks to our reviewers, editors and copy-editors, I am happy to report that we are now on schedule with the publication of this Volume. I hope you enjoy and benefit from the papers published here.

From the JJADH and the editorial team best wishes to all of you.
