In this paper, it is demonstrated that a DSS can be built for a business problem of a practical size on actDSS which is a DSS generater we have developed for the research purpose.
The actDSS adopts the model integration approach to generate a specific DSS. We applyed it to a business planning problem where organizational knowledge plays an importantrole and show that the approach is feasible in this large type of problems.
It has been pointed out to be crucial that a user is supported in model management so that he can build his model by himself. The model integration approach of actDSS allows the user to select, modify or conbine submodels in the model base freely, and thus gives a solution to the model management problem.
