Gottfredson & Hirschi emphasized the concern “Self-Control” in their work “A General Theory of Crime” in 1990. Since then, many researchers have proved the relation between criminal acts and the ability of Self-Control. But, there are many problems in their methods. The purpose of this research is to solve those problems, and to investigate the relations among Self-Control, the degree of criminal progress and domestic conditions in offenders.
The findings are as follows:
(1) It is possible to show the degree of criminal progress that they were taken into protective custody by the police under twenty years of age.
(2) The loss or separation of the real father raises the possibility that children commit some crime.
(3) It is possible for those children to develop lower ability of Self-Control who were brought up in the unstable domestic conditions by those parents who have committed some crime and do not have a fixed job.
