Abstract
The patient was a 79-year-old woman who was referred to our department because of a right breast mass. Ultrasonography revealed a hypoechoic mass 19×18mm in size in the C region and a hypoechoic mass 10×9mm in size in the D region. The tumor in the C region was diagnosed as Class Ⅳ and the tumor in the D region was diagnosed as Class Ⅴ with fine-needle aspiration cytology. A mastectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy (Bp+SN) were performed for diagnosis of right breast cancer (c-T1cN0M0 Stage Ⅰ). The removed tumor was a grayish white solid tumor 45×20×20mm in diameter. Histopathologically, the tumor was an invasive ductal carcinoma with cartilaginous metaplasia which was found in the quarter area of the tumor, resulting in diagnosis of breast cancer with cartilaginous and osseous metaplasia. There was no nodal metastasis or infiltration on lymph and blood vessel. ER and PgR were positive and HER2 was negative. She had no recurrence for 40months after the operation with postoperative adjuvant therapy with anastrozole.
