Abstract
A 35-year-old woman who had been diagnosed with endometriosis was transferred to our hospital because of repeated abdominal pain, abdominal distension, and vomiting. Ileal stenosis was detected. We suspected ileal endometriosis and performed laparoscopy-assisted surgery. The laparoscopy revealed ileal stenosis and endometriosis (r-ASRM stage Ⅱ; revised-American Society for Reproductive Medicine criteria), and partial resection of the ileum was performed. Intestinal endometriosis was confirmed on pathological examination. The postoperative course was uneventful, and she was discharged on the 9th postoperative day. Intestinal endometriosis, although rare, must be kept in mind as a cause of ileus in young women. Laparoscopic surgery is one of the effective methods for treating intestinal endometriosis.
