Productive safety management based on field research at the plants of global companies.

Abstract

In this study, we conducted one-on-one interviews with plant workers at the production sites of Japanese companies in Japan and overseas, and used the data from these interviews to visualize the actions taken to ensure normal operations at the plants and their sources. Furthermore, with the aim of establishing a methodology for safety management based on the concept of “productive safety”, we developed leading indicators and other tools to evaluate the state of implementation of “productive safety”.
