Quantifying the fingers mechanical load during mug grasping in different hand postures

Abstract

The aim of this study was to obtain basic knowledge on hand ergonomics by quantifying the mechanical loads on the fingers in different mug grasping postures. The analysis revealed that the mechanical load on the fingers are higher in the order of handle grasping, upward grasping and lateral grasping.
