Abstract
The anthropometric body measurements of 305 young female students were performed to obtain practical data of various body levels, width, thickness or circumferences, for apparel design. Correlationship between the obtained values and the body weight, body height, bust or waist was analysed and a tentitave classifications of somatotypes for apparel design was proposed by making use of the variance of the regression line for the body height and bust values of the subjects. Variation of bust values by respiration as well as the importance of under-wears were also discussed. The waist values were presumed to be as important as bust values. 14 typical body figures for the tentative somatotypes by means of the silhouettes were mentioned in Fig. 12. 1-12. 14.
