Abstract
In this study, we compared the driving behavior of 7 ordinary and 3 racing drivers, driving on a 20m radius circle at 30km/h and at high speed. At 30km/h, the average value of maximal lateral acceleration was higher for the ordinary driver group than for the racing drivers. Furthermore, at high speed, plow occurred at a lower average velocity for ordinary drivers than for racing drivers. We hypothesize that these differences exist because racing drivers driving at high speed, take advantage of the suspension system of the vehicle and control trajectory by throttle maneuvers. However, ordinary drivers driving at high speed control the trajectory of the vehicle by steering maneuvers.
