Abstract
Two fundamental experiments are performed on the accuracy of the human operation in manual control systems, and the results are applied to actual problems.
(1) Human operators have extensive adaptivity to the change of the system gain, but this adaptation is limited by the visual threshold and by the manual backlush. Therefore, this fact leads to the necessity of the suitable gain allocation to the display and control.
(2) The inaccuracy of switching time in manual time-optimal control of a pure inertia system is measured, and it is shown by the example of the crane operation that this inaccuracy is one limiting factor of the operating speed of the machine.
