Abstract
One of the major technological tasks in Japan is saving labor. Although progress in labor saving in the inspection process has been considerably behind other processes, the necessity for it has recently become increasingly apparent. The high dependency on human ability which persists especially in sensory inspection urgently calls for instrumentation.
The question concerning the instrumentation of sensory inspection involves the selection or adjustment of physical sensors so that they may fulfill the required sensory characteristics or criteria concerning the specific items for inspection.
We refer also about automatic presentation of stimuli and processing of data in experiments.
