Abstract
The Richards distribution function was fitted to the diameter distribution data of uniform and even-aged stands. Estimated values of parameter m and k were examined. The effectiveness was assessed by the test of goodness of fit. The correlation coefficient between age and parameter k was larger than between age and parameter m. Parameter k decreased as the stand grew older. The observed correlation coefficient between both mean diameter and diameter variance and parameter m was statistically significant, but was not large. There was a high linear relation between both mean diameter and diameter variance and parameter k. Further there was a higher linear relation between both the logarithm of mean diameter and diameter variance and the logarithm of parameter k.
