Abstract
The authors found the formation of p-hydroxybenzoylmethylketone or vanilloylmethylketone by the action of yeast carboligase, when phydroxybenzaldehyde or vanillin was added in fermented liquor of saccharose. A possible role of the carboligase on the processes of biological formation of the phenylpropanes as lignin building stone was suggested because the above mentioned products were identical with one of the ethanolysis products of lignins.
